6 Months

Jacob has grown so much in the last month. He is starting to eat baby food and is a happy little boy. He just ate carrots and mananaged to get it on his forhead, I dont know how he does it. He is now 6 months old and very chunky! He loves to watch his older brother and just laughs at him all the time. We sure love this little boy so much.

Deep Thoughts by Kimberly

Deep Thoughts......
I just got back from a fun time at a hat and scarf party for my amazing friend Christa. Christa has stage 3A breast cancer and is going through chemo and then onto radiation for her. All I could think about is how strong she is. I found myself thinking about how I would handle the situation if I were in her shoes. She has such a positive attitude with an awesome family. Her 2 boys shaved their heads and her 2 daughters donated their hair to locks of love. Christa is my inspiration and my hero. How can I complain that my 6 month old has a cold and isn't sleeping well?? How can I complain that my almost 3 year old just pulled his diaper off during nap time and won't sleep?? How can I complain that I have to do 4 nights alone while Ryan has to go to work?? How can I complain that my boobs don't work and I'm not able to breast feed our children?? I sat there watching my friend's attitude and was in awe at how strong she is. My little trials and struggles I am going through doesn't even compare to the things she is going through!! Christa- you are my HERO!!! I want to be you when I grow up!
Then, as I drove home I was listening to Rascal Flats song Broken Road. It made me think about Ryan and how blessed and lucky I am to have him in my life. I had a long 27 year wait to find Ryan. I had to go through things in my life to truly appreciate all that he does for me. When we moved to St. Johns I was a little worried. We were moving farther away from family. But, in the end, Ryan and I have grown even closer and our family is even stronger. Ryan does those little things that I truly treasure. He still opens my door. He takes my hand when we are walking. He loves to plant flowers with me every spring. He loves to rub, well likes, to rub my feet when I ask him to. He looks me in the eye and makes me feel important. He snuggles right next to me and holds me in the middle of the night when I tell him I'm cold. It took a lot to find Ryan and many broken roads but now that I have him for eternity I am so Blessed!! I love you honey always and forever!!
Then I started thinking about our family and how much I love our boys. Dallin has had a few struggles in life and I have had many worries about him. He is Dallin and we wouldn't trade him. Life isn't fun without him. And my sweet Jacob!! I love how his face lights up everytime he smiles. My life is truly blessed. We all have our own trials and struggles but in the end if we keep plugging along and keep our head up, we will be blessed!! I had many more thoughts but just a few I wanted to make sure I got down.

Scott

As many of you know, Scott married a sweet girl from Chile when he went back to teach the people English after his mission. They have been living here for the past 8 or 9 years. Now it is time for them to move back to Chile and be closer to her family. We are all sad because we don't know when we will see them all again. I am very glad to have been able to spend these last few days here with my family and especially Scott. He is a great brother and example to me. I love my family!!!

The siblings without Aaron. Wendi and Cindi are pregnant. Cindi is due Feb 26 and Wendi April 1. Both are having boys!!!

Scott and I together. Poor Scott- he had to stand there for awhile! Yes, I am in my pajama bottoms. Always nice to travel comfy!!

Our Fun

I made this pine cone wreath with Ryan's Mom the other day. We had lots of fun spending the morning with her. Dallin sure loves Grandma!!!

Jacob had fun watching all of the ornaments being placed on Grandma's tree. He kept looking up as high as he could to see all the pretty colors!

Our poor Jacob!! He got a bad cold and we had a few fun days and night. He was a trooper and we all survived. This was on his first not fun, I don't feel good day!!

Dallin was bored one day I guess. He pulled this mattress out and put it against the couch and would slide down it. He came up with that all on his own. I came out from changing Jacob and found him doing this. Never a dull moment at our house.

Jacob was helping Nana one night on the computer. I love how he holds his hands!

Dallin had fun with Kennedy playing in the sand box. Yes, a bath was needed after they were done.

Jacob was having fun with Dallin's cars. Sometimes Dallin will give Jacob a car to play with.

My boys working on the car together!!!

Our Boys

I LOVE being a mom!!! Our boys are so much fun. Both of them are at such fun ages. Jacob is just discovering life, his voice, and how much fun life can be. Dallin is always so much fun. He loves puzzles, books, being on the tractor with Ryan, and says the cutest sounds for animals. Oh I just can't stop smiling thinking about our boys!!

Our sweet boy Jacob!!! I love his blue eyes and he loves his hands!!

Dallin loves to go to stores with cars in the front. He thought he was really driving.

You don't need cars to push around!! Dallin had fun with soap- he has fun with just about anything!!

Can you see the sucker on the back of Dallin's shoulder? It was 7 in the morning and I had to laugh. Guess it was there all night. I asked Ryan about it and all he could say was that he wondered where it had gone the night before.

Our boys playing together. Dallin can't wait till Jacob can really play!!

Grandpa kept putting the flag in the back of Dallin's shirt. Dallin thought it was funny.

The boys watching Einstein on the couch together. It was red day I guess!! I wasn't wearing red though.

Ryan and Jacob early on a Sat morning. They were watching the hunting channel.

This turkey is Dallin's favorite thing right now. He holds it so carefully and it goes everywhere. It has even taken a few naps with Dallin. Ryan won't let him take it into any stores. I told him it's better than a doll.

I found a duck and got a toy!!

Dallin loved this horse. He didn't want to get off. It was so cute when we started off Dallin kept making horse noises.

Way To Go Honey!!

I'm so proud of Ryan! We found out this week he was chosen to be on a new crew at work. He was chosen out of all the operators and they chose just a handful. He will be learning how to start up new parts at the plant and then will be training the others down the road on what to do. I am so excited for this because NO MORE NIGHTS!!! We are so grateful for a good job but having Ryan do shift work that means sometimes he's gone from 4:30 pm to 4:30 am and then has to sleep has been hard on all of us. He should be starting this in January. Way to go Honey!!!

I just want Ryan to know how much I love him! My life is truly blessed because you are in my life! I love you so much always and forever! Thanks for all you do for our family. It's so nice to know someone is there for you and supports you and loves you. Thanks for being the best Dad! Our boys love playing with you! We love you!!!

What's Jacob doing?

So this morning I kept hearing noises from Jacob's room. I don't know how long it was but I wasn't sure what he was doing. He is a mover in his sleep so I thought at first he was trying to get comfy. After a while I decided I better go check on him. It was 5:50am. I open the door and peek in and there was Jacob on his back just as happy as can be. He sleeps on his tummy and had rolled. I wondered and chuckled to myself because I didn't know how long he had been on his back. Probably for awhile because thinking back the noise I kept hearing was him kicking his legs. He does that a lot. I was grateful he was happy and not screaming like Dallin would. Hopefully he stays happy when he rolls. He doesn't roll very much. If he does he doesn't know what he's doing. I know this is a fun stage. Hopefully he figures things out fast and stays happy when he does roll.

Tons of Pictures

It has been awhile since I blogged so here is a catch up of our fun this last month or so. Enjoy all the pictures! I have to say I have the cutest boys!!! I love them so much!

Dallin has the most precious smile!!

Jacob trying to figure out what I was doing.

I couldn't keep Jacob awake at the store. The funny part was it was only 7:30pm.

Jacob has found his hands. He loves to eat them all the time.

I love this smile!!!

And this smile!!!

And this smile!!!

Jacob loves his bumbo. He has always liked to watch the world.

And this smile!!

He's such a good boy!

The crazy part was Dallin never got wet after playing with the hose.

Dallin loves to feed Jacob. He's such a good helper.

Dallin just curled up on the counter one day and watched me make dinner.

Dallin loves to help Ryan.

We went to a pumpkin patch the other day. We found 3 perfect pumpkins for our house.

Dallin and Ryan playing the drums together. Ryan had to watch out for Dallin's big swing as he would hit the drums.

Dallin loves to give animals love. We were at Bass Pro Shop.

A 3 generation picture. Next time we hope to get Ryan's dad in it so it will be a 4 generation picture. We love you Grandpa Great!!

Yes, I'm still alive. Ryan came home the other day and said I'm never in the pictures. I told him I'm always taking the pictures. So here you go honey. Here I am. We were ready for church.

We have had lots of fun. Our boys are doing great and Jacob sure is growing lots. Last Wed he was 16 weeks but the 24th isn't till next Sat. I'm curious how much he weighs because he has chunked out on us these last 2 months. Jacob is such a sweet boy and loves to now watch Dallin's every move. He has thankfully figured out naps so that has made my life easier. Not every nap is perfect but a lot better than before. Dallin has also grown this last month. He's doing awesome in his program and taking great steps forward. I love to play with these boys everyday and am so grateful Ryan has a good job so I'm able to stay at home. Ryan does so much for our family. We are all doing awesome!!! Life is good! We love you all!

Our Fun

Ryan has been working lots of hours lately and wanted to get away. So, we booked a hotel, packed our stuff, and headed for a relaxing, fun night in Flagstaff. It only took us about 2 hours to get there and we had a blast. This was our first family vacation with just the 4 of us. It was nice to be able to do whatever we wanted to do. We had Olive Garden for dinner and Rocky Mountain Chocolate for dessert. Little known fact- I worked at that Rocky Mountain in Flag while going to NAU. They do have the best chocolate. Ryan was a great sport while dealing with me and shopping. We went to Kohls, Walmart, Target, Ross, Old Navy, and the mall (Flag mall isn’t very big though). Hey, when you only have 2 dollar stores, 1 drug store, 1 grocery store, and no stop lights in St. Johns you stop at stores when you see them. I had to laugh as Ryan sat in the car with the boys and I went into Old Navy. He told me I was walking home if I didn’t come out with something for me. I had found lots of cute, fun stuff for the boys and Ryan but nothing for me. Luckily I didn’t have to walk home. The only thing I worried about during our trip was how our night would go. I didn’t know who would wake up who. Dallin was such a big boy. He put himself to sleep in the pack and play about 9 and Jacob was asleep on the 2nd bed just after that. I didn’t sleep very well though. I kept waking up waiting for Jacob to wake up, plus he moves a lot while sleeping. To my amazement, Jacob slept till 6:20 and Dallin was up at 6:30. I could not have asked for a better night. We had so much fun and can’t wait to do this trip again.

Dallin loved playing on the bed with all his trucks at the hotel.

Poor Jacob! One day he will get to play with Dallin. He is such a trooper with all the cars, trucks, and other toys that gets pushed over him.

We had the doors open the other day after it rained. Dallin decided it was better to lay outside I guess. He's such a cutie!!

This is Jacob at church. I'm going to take this pew home with us. The last 2 Sundays he has taken almost 3 hour naps on it. Ryan says he will sit there. Priesthood is right there so he's fine. Jacob is a great sleeper at night. He usually sleeps till about 5ish but after that I never know what I will get. Our little munchkin likes to sleep for 30 min, wake up, and can’t put himself back to sleep. I have tried everything and anything but don’t know what to do. If anyone has any advice I’d love to hear it. It was very hard at the beginning when he started doing this about 6 weeks old and now I just have to love our guy. I don’t think I can do anything- it’s something he will have to figure out. I’ve done research online and this is a common problem. I’m just baffled because when we put him down for bed at night he does awesome and sleeps for hours. It’s just after that, who knows. But, overall he’s a good boy. He just gets whiny and grumpy at the end of the day. I’m sure because he’s so exhausted from not sleeping well during the day.

Our sweet Jacob!! Last Wed Jacob was 10 weeks and we had a doctors appt and had to get shots. Fun I know!!! He weighed 11 lbs 4 oz and is in 50th percentile. The nurse really stretched him out and got 23 and 3/4 inches which put him in 90th persentile (I don't think that's right). I don't remember his head but is in 75th percentile. He does have the big Farr head. And I love his double chin. Overall, a very healthy boy!!!

PS Thanks Honey for a great birthday!! I am very blessed and lucky to have 3 amazing boys in my life!!! I love them so very much!!
