Food Storage

I am so proud of our families effort this last year. Our goal for 2011 was to really work on our food storage. We had a little to start with but not much. We took our tax money and put that towards our food storage. We watched prices and did lots at the cannery and went to Walmart and Sams Club. We reached our goal of a 6 month supply for 5 adults. We probably have about a 7 month supply now. I am now working on recipes and learning all about rotating food so we can keep our food storage up to date. Our goal for 2012 is to keep up our 6 month supply and I want to learn all about canning so what we grow in our garden we can use down the road. Another goal for 2012, is to move onto step 4 of the Dave Ramsey plan. I love Dave Ramsey!! We have his book if anyone wants to borrow it- thanks Mark. You gotta love those New Year's Resolution. I try really hard to keep mine these days.

I am also proud of our shelves. Most of these items were bought with coupons!!! I LOVE couponing. I look forward to when the ads come out and I see what I can get a good deal on. You can't beat 75 cents to $1. 30 for a box of cereal. And you can't beat 50 cents per box of fruit by the foot and fruit snacks. Couponing has been a fun hobby for both Ryan and I. He usually helps me clip the coupons and is always amazed at what I can do at the stores. I LOVE Safeway these days!!! Hopefully I keep the enthusiasm for couponing this year also!!!

Life

Life is good at the Farr home! We have fun playing, learning, laughing, and loving one another! These are just a few pictures of our life lately!!

Our 3 beautiful kiddos!!!

Hannah didn't think shopping at Safeway was fun. She fell asleep on the cart. One day she will love shopping with me.

Our sweet Jacob we love!! I love his cute smile!!

Hannah loves our new stools!! She sat there just kicking her legs. It was so adorable to watch.

The boys wanted to make a sign. We waited until Ryan came home and the kids set to work. They had so much fun painting! And it wasn't as big a mess as I thought it would end up being.

Jacob is so funny- he sleeps like this sometime. I call it has praying position. He is gone in this picture. I guess it's comfy to him!

Dallin likes to read to Jacob! I love to listen to Dallin's story as he tells it.

Our Dallin we love so much!!!

The boys have so much fun playing together. They were helping each other with this ABC puzzle. Dallin was showing Jacob where to put his letters. It's so nice when they play so well together!

Jacob said he wanted all his friends by him so he went and got them all. Everything is better with your friends!

Hannah loves to sit on the boys bed and play! I love to watch her!

Just after we got home from Christmas, the boys found their Clifford dominoes Nana gave them. They were in heaven and love anything like that!!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas this year! Dallin and I are already counting down to when we can put Christmas up again, listen to Christmas music, and enjoy the spirit of Christmas!

The Thursday before Christmas, Dallin got up throwing up and threw up all morning long. It was a hard day for me putting all my efforts into not throwing up myself as I held Dallin over the toilet. I was sure glad when he was feeling better. Over the next week, we all got this stomach bug at one time or another except Jacob. He was lucky enough to not get it. I felt even worse when we got other families sick- sorry!

The next morning, the Friday before Christmas, Santa found our house some way- I didn't want to take presents down to the Valley to just bring them back.

Hannah's presents from Santa. SHe LOVES her alligator toy- what a great find.

Jacob's presents from Santa. He loves his cash register and other fun toys. Both boys got the Bugsby reading system which they love and already need new batteries for it.

Dallin's presents from Santa. He was so excited to see he got his cat piano and other fun things.
Overall Santa did very well this year and got everything on sale- I am proud of myself and the awesome deals I found- I mean- Santa found!!

We had lots of fun opening presents!!

Then, after the fun of Christmas we packed up all of our stuff and headed down to the Valley for a few days. Friday night most of the cousin's went to my parents house and we made gingerbread houses, ate pizza, and went to see the Temple lights. It was a fun night. Over the next several days we had lots of fun making memories with family! I love Christmas time and can't wait for next year!!
